Tevez back at City

Striker attends Manchester City's training ground

Carlos Tevez is back with Manchester City after attending the club's training ground on Tuesday evening for an appointment with a club doctor.

The City striker flew back to England's north west after more than three months of unauthorised leave in his native Argentina.

The 28-year-old was met by a large gathering of photographers and TV cameramen as he and his family walked through Manchester Airport after travelling overnight from Buenos Aires.

Tevez has not been selected for a City squad since refusing to resume his warm up in their UEFA Champions League clash against Bayern Munich in September.
With the relationship between Tevez and City now 'thawing' the Argentinian is now looking to return to action after jetting back to England to resume first-team training.
On Sunday, manager Roberto Mancini has hinted the striker could now be in a position to help the club for the final three months of the campaign.

Possibility

Mancini initially said Tevez was "finished" at City after the Munich episode, but the Italian has recently appeared open to the possibility the former captain playing for the club again.
Mancini, however, has previously stated Tevez would need to apologise to be considered for selection.
Tevez also said in his Argentinian interview yesterday: "I do not think I was wrong, but if they [the club] think so I apologise.
"I am ready to return, to win and do the best for the club's shirt."
City have also not yet responded to the Fox interview, which included a claim from Tevez that Mancini treated him "like a dog" in Munich.
The city squad appear receptive to his return if the reaction of Joleon Lescott is anything to go by.
He tweeted: "All I can say...is that all the players are excited to have Carlos, Kolo and Yaya (Toure, returned from the African Nations Cup) back to help achieve our goal.

Roberto Mancini has refused to comment on whether he has met with Carlos Tevez after Samir Nasri expressed his belief that the striker can still be an important player for Manchester City.

Tevez returned to training with City last week after spending over three months back in his nativeArgentina and he has not played for the club since September.

He is currently working on his own fitness programme and did not meet Mancini before the Italian flew to Portugal for last week's Europa League clash with Porto.Mancini has previously suggested that the 28-year-old will not be welcomed back fully into the City fold until he apologises following his refusal to warm-up during a UEFA Champions League tie away to Bayern Munich.

And, ahead of the return meeting with Porto at the Etihad Stadium on Wednesday evening, Mancini declined to comment on whether he has met with Tevez.
He said: "I am here to talk about Porto."
When asked further if there would be a meeting with the striker, he said: "There is a meeting tomorrow - against Porto."

Tevez failed to secure a move away from City during the January transfer window and, prior to his return to the club, he caused further controversy by claiming Mancini treated him "like a dog" in a TV interview.
Quality

Mancini last week denied he ever treated Tevez badly and said he would not speak about the player for the next three months.
City midfielder Nasri hopes the situation can be resolved and Tevez can rejoin the push for the Premier League and Europa League titles.
The Frenchman said: "I didn't speak to Carlos.
"I think he is an important player for us and for every team in Europe, because he has quality.
"I don't know what happened. If he has to apologise, then he has to do it and then he will be in the squad, because we need players of his quality to win the league and the Europa League.
"After that it is for the club and Carlos to deal with."

That's the issue here. Really, this is a no brainer. Tevez is being a bit childish by complaining and blaming everyone but himself for his woes but fact is, he is very useful to the team. Mancini and the board should have taken a definite stand on whether they would sell him or toss him aside. The middle game is what is done at teams like Arsenal  who have always had saga's of players leaving and all (no pun intended). Imagine: Tevez, Aguero, Silva. that should send all the chills to any defence.

Heel:

Integrating tevez straight into the side might send the wrong message to players who would feel that such behaviour would be tolerated, esp balotelli who can be a hot-head. My personal thing would have been to sell tevez during the January window and get someone else, or only allow Tevez to play if he issues an apology. Anything else just makes the argument of people who think footballers are getting too pig headed for their own good.
