Oh, AVB...the lesson from those before you.

From the trend going right now at  the Stamford Bridge, it seems that the man who probably holds the record transfer for a manager at £13.5m has continued in the "Path", one most blues fan should be conversant with.

Andre Villas-Boas was forced to explain his Champions League team selection to Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich.
The Blues manager's decision to leave out Frank Lampard, Ashley Cole and Michael Essien in Napoli left him open to criticism, particularly after the hosts secured a 3-1 lead to take to Stamford Bridge next month.
Villas-Boas remains convinced he has the full backing of Abramovich despite recent results, but the Portuguese admits he was grilled over his line-up in Italy.
"I have spoken to the persons near to Abramovich," he said. "He is disappointed and asking questions about how we set up the team, which were duly explained."
Despite his continued belief he picked the right team on the night, Villas-Boas will not blame his players for the poor performance.
He said: "There is one person who takes responsibility and that is myself. The players shouldn't take it."
And the 34-year-old denied outright reports Cole had openly questioned his tactics, saying: "This is not true."
As for Lampard's omission, he said: "It's difficult for him to take and I wouldn't expect it any other way, but it is the manager's decision. We had a discussion. There is nothing to resolve."
